The ingenious low mountain landscape of the Ore Mountains is perfect for many outdoor activities. Hardly any other federal state has such diverse fascinating landscapes to offer on a few km² as Saxony.

Hiking is the most popular outdoor activity among Germans. 34 million Germans wander in leisure and vacation. Every second German citizen enjoys nature on foot. In addition to the particularly active generation “Best Agers”, more and more young people are discovering hiking for themselves.

With the maintenance and marking of 190,000 km of hiking trails, the German mountain and hiking associations lay the foundation for extensive hiking pleasure, and Germany's charming and varied landscapes make you want more.

Hiking is much more than movement on foot:

Hiking is ...

  • healthy for the heart, circulation, muscles, immune system and metabolism

  • relaxing and beneficial for body, mind and soul

  • sporting activity without pressure to perform

  • connecting in partnership, circle of friends and association

  • eventful in nature

  • unique and valuable for anyone who deliberately chooses an active hiking experience

25 marked hiking trails (approx. 130 km of trails) and the connection to the international hiking trail E3 , which follows the ridge trail in sections, ensure extensive hiking fun.

Your advantage in the low mountain range: Even with relatively "small" hiking tours, beautiful hiking destinations can already be reached.

Of course you can also enjoy nature and forest from the Kremser or in the open horse-drawn carriage!

Fantastic landscape, winding routes, nice people and delicious food as the starting point for the experience "freedom on two wheels" almost perfect. Plan your next tour at breakfast on the mountain terrace - documents and tips are available from the boss, who also drives herself. Hardly any other federal state covers a few square kilometers
to offer such diverse and fascinating landscapes as Saxony.

The Holzhau adventure village can be found 50 km south of Dresden, between the toy village Seiffen and the well-known winter sports resort of Altenberg. From here, the asphalt meanders 60 km to the Saxon Switzerland, just as far the light gray band carries the flashing machines into the smallest wine-growing region in Germany, the Saxon Elbland. The history of the Zschopau motorcycle production is documented in the museum in the Zschopau castle and on the Augustusburg and should not be missing on a tour of the Ore Mountains. A detour around the corner to Seiffen and further into the Western Ore Mountains to Oberwiesenthal - high on the Fichtelberg will be an eventful day tour.

In the evening, satisfied with all the watching, happy and exhausted - a cool Rechenberger beer and Saxony's famous cuisine await. Also happy to grill steaks on our grill by the campfire next to the Barbarins terrace or at a picnic in the forest. Look forward to an extensive breakfast in the morning! When the sun is shining, you can also relax in the fresh mountain air on the Talblick terrace. In the evening, relax in our sauna, if you wish, you can also regenerate with one of our massage offers.

With the widely branched, well-groomed trails (120 km), cross-country skiers of all fitness levels will find the right route. The Easter Ore Mountains trail with connection to the Czech ski mainline leaves nothing to be desired for cross-country fans.
