Small tour along the raft trail in Holzhau
The history of the origin of Holzhau is closely connected with the clearing and transport of local wood. The only means of transport in the good old days was water. Today, the names of some places and paths are derived from this. On the raft tour you will encounter many examples of this: on the one hand, names and designations related to wood and logging, and on the other hand, those related to fishing - in order to be able to raft, the melted water was collected in ponds in the spring which were used for fish farming and still characterize the landscape today.
